The season of famine looms across East Africa!

Minhaj Welfare Foundation has been working in East Africa village by village delivering a sustainable infrastructure of education facilities, livelihood support programs and healthcare for years. Our “adopt a village” campaigns have encouraged donor communities to own the empowerment of sustainable projects in their adopted East African villages.

Unfortunately the season of famine looms across East Africa. Thousands of families have traveled for days across scorched scrub-land from South Sudan, Somalia to Kenya, including barefoot children with no food or water, after their crops and livestock were destroyed.

More than 13 million people have been affected across the Horn of Africa.

Acute malnutrition has reached 37% in some parts of north east Kenya and child refugees are dying of causes related to malnutrition.

According to the BBC 1.3 million children will face imminent death..

Lives could have been spared — and funds saved — were globally coordinated preventive action taken earlier. however this is the case today, the most SEVERE crisis is unfolding in East Africa.

As part of our Emergency Crisis Appeals we are asking for your donations to increase our capacity and coverage in providing relief to even more villages and families facing the famine in East Africa.
