Minhaj Welfare Foundation would like to thank the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League in the North and Midlands, for their incredible and successful ‘Charity Iftar’ dinners during the month of Ramadan.
The event was pulled together with the support of the sister’s group and was made a huge success by a team of volunteers and the generosity of the local community.
Amina Sultani, Milad Raza Qadri and Shahbaz Hasan Qadri, all UK based Nasheed reciters attended the events in Blackburn, Accrington, Nelson, Tinsley, Bolton, Birmingham and Huddersfield. They performed odes in the praise of the Beloved Prophet (PBUH).
The President of Minhaj Women League North, Nasreen Akhtar spoke about the importance of charity and Zakat. ‘It is our religious and social responsibility’ to support the poor and needy, said Mrs Nasreen Akhtar after recently visiting the Aghosh project in Lahore, an experience she shared with the audience.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation’s, Adnan Sohail attended the event and highlighted the works of MWF worldwide and the continuous support from the women shown during the Charity Iftar dinners which were first organised in 2015.
The Charity Iftar dinners raised a substantial amount through donations and pledges to support orphan and needy children and provide clean drinking water to the poor and needy people of Pakistan.
