Famous Qawwal from Pakistan perform to raise funds for clean water
A popular Sufi group from Pakistan who were contemporaries of the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, brother’s Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad Qawwal and ensemble performed live at the ACM Centre (Ashton) in Greater Manchester on Friday 19th October.
The event was organised by Minhaj Welfare Foundation with the support of local volunteers from Greater Manchester in aid of the Pakistan water crisis appeal. More than 500 people attended the fundraising and qawwali event, raising substantial amounts for clean and safe water in Pakistan.
Faisal Hussain, Managing Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation said, “It was a great night of entertainment and inspiration.” He further added: “MWF has been providing clean and safe water for poor communities around the world since 1989. The community of Greater Manchester was very generous and we now can support more people in need.”
